Met grassroots leaders from various political parties in Samburu County led by Governor Lati Lelelit at State House Nairobi. They included sitting and former MCAs and MPs from UDA, Jubilee and PNU, among other political parties

They have agreed to work together as the country heads to the General Election next year. Leaders at the meeting included former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal, former Women Rep Maison Leshomo, and former MP Alois Lentoimaga.

We also discussed the measures we are taking in the transformation of Samburu and the entire country.

Explained that the recently established National Infrastructure Fund will play a critical role in the development of road infrastructure, water storage facilities and energy generation.

We are bringing together leaders and citizens from across the political divide to unite the country and accelerate our country's transformation.

In Makueni County, we are investing KSh15 billion in affordable housing, 11 modern markets and hostels for university and college students.

We are also investing KSh2.7 billion in roads development this financial year, including Emali-Matiliku and Ukia-Kyuasini-Kyaambeke roads which are under construction.

Work on the Machinery-Kyumani and Wote-Kako roads will commence shortly.

To address water challenges and unlock the entire Ukambani region's agricultural potential, we have secured KSh10.6 billion to complete Thwake Dam along the border of Kitui and Makueni counties.

On healthcare, the Social Health Authority has paid KSh2 billion to hospitals in Makueni County for provision of medical services, improving access to quality healthcare.

At State House Nairobi, commissioned consultations and eventual preparation of Kenya's inaugural State of Openness Report. It will establish a national benchmark for measuring transparency, accountability and institutional performance across Government, while providing an honest assessment of where we are succeeding, what we must improve and the reforms necessary to strengthen public trust.

I direct every ministry, department, agency, constitutional commission and county government to extend their full cooperation to the Commission on Administrative Justice by providing timely, accurate and comprehensive information throughout this exercise.

Our report on the state of openness, to be launched later in the year, will be the first of its kind in the world.

We have also implemented electronic procurement to enhance transparency, promote fair competition and ensure prudent use of public resources.

To ensure openness to Government Owned Enterprises, we have enacted a law that is helping strengthen transparent, merit-based and competitive recruitment free from political influence.

Additionally, the enactment of the Conflict of Interest Act has further reinforced integrity by strengthening transparency, accountability and ethical conduct of public officers.

In the implementation of the National Infrastructure Fund (NIF), we have also introduced robust mechanisms to strengthen openness and transparency, limiting the President's role in the appointment of the NIF Council, enhancing institutional independence and accountability.

We have introduced a Unified Government Digital Payment Platform to eliminate leakages, reduce opportunities for corruption and strengthen accountability in the collection of public revenue.
