The generous read of that USMNT performance is that it was a jet lagged performance on a tough playing surface.
The more realistic read is that this team looks like it’s still working out some kinks with one match left until the World Cup.
Worrying
It’s always good to have the formation change as an option for Chelsea, but why not try to stick with the back 4 if the back 5 (3?) doesn’t seem to be working?

I’ll hazard to say that despite the result, both teams will be satisfied with the play of game today. Both teams building towards something greater. #MUNARS
Matthew Upson on TAA:
"He get's drawn out of position, his recovery isn't that great and his intensity in terms of the defensive side of the game is lacking and I think that gets exposed from time to time." ⚽

Newcastle are set to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad, medical in England as clubs have completed the agreement on €65m fee and €5m add-ons, club record signing: here we go. ⚪️⚫️🤝 #NUFC
Deal will also include a sell-on clause for Real Sociedad.
@oh_that_crab@_cingraham Hmm I’ve not heard that. I have seen speculation about inflation but that seems to be an insincere position held by many on the right. I agree that ultimately the goal should be lower cost of college and this seems like potentially a first step toward that imo.
Haven’t seen all of his appearances, but from what I have seen he’s looked good. Perhaps he’s more prepared for the league that Liverpool imagined? It’ll be interesting to see where he slots in. He’s come on as a wide forward and an attacking midfielder so far.
🚨 NEW: Fabio Carvalho could be in line for his first Premier League start for the Reds after an impressive cameo off the bench against Man United on Monday night. #lfc [liverpool echo]
