Right so let’s kick off the £10 to £1million challenge!! Super excited! I’m also going to create videos of my progress, but for now here are the rules 👨‍⚖️:

1. Start with exactly £10
2. Only reinvest profits
3. Record every transaction
4. Account for all expenses (i.e postage, packaging, marketplace fees, fuel, grading costs,… plane tickets ✈️)
5. Stay legal and ethical

I’ll document the journey here and hopefully engage with as many of you as I can.

Honestly I did not believe this hype around WhatNot, until I downloaded it and started bidding on cards that some dude was showcasing in what I can only describe as a garage sale. This thing is in cred i ble. Modern day slot machine

I’ll say it again… gamified commerce.

Whatnot started with Funko Pops. Today they’re a $20B company doing billions in GMV across categories.

That evolution is the part people should be paying attention to.

TCGs/sports cards/collectibles are the wedge, but the behavior is much bigger than the category.

People want commerce to be entertaining. They want discovery, competition, community and experience built into the transaction.

And once that behavior works in one category, there’s no reason it stops there.

Luxury. Watches. Sneakers. Entertainment. Fashion. The list goes on.

We’re still incredibly early in understanding just how big gamified commerce can become.

THIS is the opportunity.

Right so I finally caved and kicked off the £10 to £1m challenge. Candidly I placed 17 offers on different cards before this and every one was declined. So… I caved. I finally acquired my first card of the challenge for £14.88

Extremely happy with this first purchase: Umbreon Ex with the Prismatic Evolutions stamp!!!! I’d love to hear your thoughts 💭💭💭💭
