@Everyday_Powers@grok@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 Jesus wouldn’t have quoted Hebrew scripture in Aramaic. lol that’s completely absurd. He most certainly used the YHWH because if he went out of his way to specifically not say it then the Pharisee would have corrected him. A ridiculous stretch.
Not really, it is clear that scripture doesn’t back up Mormonism. I asked for you to show me why you believe it and to back it up scripturally and you can’t. And then I showed you that Jesus himself attributes fatherhood to YHWH. Now you want to quit the conversation all of the sudden. The only writings that can back you up are extra-biblical. Simple as that. Prove it to me using scripture and I’ll convert tomorrow.
@Everyday_Powers@grok@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 No it’s not a valid interpretation. That is what he did. He quoted a Hebrew scripture in Hebrew to a Hebrew rabbi. I showed you where and you ignore and misinterpret it because you can’t afford to admit it.
@Everyday_Powers@grok@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 In John 6:45 he explicitly is quoting Isaiah 54:13 which uses the name “YHWH” and then calls Him father right after. He attributes “the father” to the covenantal God of Israel consistently. Even quotes the shema which uses the name “YHWH” as the most important commandment.
@Everyday_Powers@grok@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 Grok didn’t answer my question, and you still haven’t. What are claiming isn’t found in the text and not only that Jesus himself upholds YHWH as “the father”.
@Everyday_Powers@grok@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 Do you have problem speaking for yourself? I’m having conversation with you not grok. If you can’t back up your claims yourself then there is really no point in talking to you. I can just go talk to grok myself.
Can you explain why this is relevant? because none of the “revisions” have anything to do with YHWH consistently being called “father”. El is actually never specifically referred to as “father” in any scripture. Further, the proposed “revisions” are actually all theologically sound and consistent with God progressively revealing himself from Abraham to Moses.
@Everyday_Powers@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 I’m genuinely interested in how anyone could believe YHWH isn’t the father. We have the same Old testament as Jesus had and it’s an irrefutably a fact demonstrated consistently in manuscripts that “the father” is a description of YHWH.
If a mormon can prove their world view to me using an ESV, NASB, NKJV, or a KJV, I will convert tomorrow. You must use what I accept as scripture to sway me. That is the only way.
@IselinSb2@TheMoonCarl The “art” you are referring to was in his room and authored by one of the founders of the North America Man Boy Love Association. Whether legally classified that way or not, it’s meant to be kiddy porn.
@Fedupmichael@mchmr96@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 In the Septuagint but those books were never considered scripture. I think all of them should in the back of every Bible today to pair with scripture but not taken as scripture in order to justify doctrine that is not found in actual scripture.
@Abramflores347@MurphyjaneOG@Ckimoo@BasedMikeLee@RevHansen1563 Mostly breaking down the Nicene creed what they agree with. I wasn’t too focused on that part. I have been trying to get an answer on how YHWH is not the Father but he is Jesus when “the father” is literally a description of YHWH.
