Imagine counterfactual where Jacobites win Battle of Boyne…🤔
Crews out early again this morning clearing trash screens and responding to #corkfloods call-outs.
⚠️Up to 30 city council staff, not including @CorkCityFire crew members, were clearing screens and grates from 7am yesterday to midnight.
⚠️They received 100 + call-outs, emergency and non emergency,& are continuing to respond to these today.
⚠️Road management, fallen trees, fires,
rescues from cars and homes and building damage were some of the main issues.

"In relation to Israels military operations in Gaza, we conclude that Israeli authorities are responsible for war crimes.. including extermination.. murder, using starvation as a method of war, forcible transfer.."
The UN Human Rights Council report published today is damning.
@NoonanJoe One could think it ironic that a “heritage” minister would so intentionally wish to cleanse an entire nation from history, if it weren’t so desperately depraved, inhumane and genocidal 😔
Look at this guy! He lost a wing while hatching this morning. So I took advantage of his extra drying and wing-strengthening time 'til he was strong enough to fly off. Stunning creatures! Bit of a facial hair issue... but sure don't we all! 😬 #dragonfly
@Potuama 💀 Been reading #BillBryson’s #AShortHistoryOfNearlyEverything with Cormac, & the level of human-caused extinction is stunning…!
📊 Latest reports are that over a million species are currently at risk of extinction…
😢 Cormac was literally shocked…so why aren’t adults?!
@Feargal_Sharkey@SouthWestWater So despicable…sanitation was first legislated in 1848, supposedly for “public health”, but in reality for economic reasons to support Poor Laws…
Appears economics has prevailed again 176 yrs later!
Leaving EU also means you have no recourse to the ECJ under the Water FW Dir.
👏 Strong leadership from @Irishwildlife…
🦡 Generations of badgers can reside in a sett complex…
This is animal cruelty, plain and simple…and should be prosecuted accordingly.
@EastCorkBio
At a time when nature is under huge pressure from significant habitat loss we need our courts to be tough on wildlife crime and send a signal to would-be perpetrators that they will face a full conviction for their crimes including a criminal record. https://t.co/BlnaRvNR5w
@eoinlettice There’s one in Ballyannan Woods in Midleton…not sure about the age, but the pine cones are certainly the same…will check for you tomorrow. 🌲
Just on (heading west) from where this photo was taken:

Well done to all winners at tonight’s @corkciviclife awards, but this legend, @Potuama and @Ballynamona in particular… 😊
Now, beach clean Sunday lads! 💪

“ABCD!”, a colleague in @corkcitycouncil said to me, shortly after I joined.
“What’s that supposed to mean”, I asked.
“Ah, But Cork’s Different”, he told me, knowingly.
🤔 The more the years go on, the more I get reminded of that!
