In 2018, Nerds candy did $50m in sales.

It will to do ~$900m in 2025, an increase of 1,700x and has overtaken Skittles as the market’s top sugar candy.

The gains came after Italian confectionary giant Ferrera acquired Nestle USA’s candy arm for $3B (it owned Nerd, Butterfinger and Baby Ruth).

Ferrara was home to real-life Willy Wonka who invented Ferrero Rocher, Tic Tic and Kinder Surprise.

They took that inventive DNA and made the first real change to Nerds in its 35-year history: crunchy candy outside gummy middle.

Now, these Clusters fly off the shelf at the theatre, airport bookstores and long-distance athletes looking for sugar boost.
