I feel like it’s just too slow and expensive for these studios to pivot in a way that would truly move the needle. Those character models take a year or more from pre production to polish. It wouldn’t have helped due to the bones of the game being too progressive, and all the devs living in an ideological bubble.

Also: This game started pre production in “peak woke” for the broader culture, and I’d argue it stayed peak woke within the industry until just before Trump 2.0 kicked off.

We will not see based AAA games for years as the ship rights itself. (If it ever does.)
