Flying Scotsman departed today from the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, with one last run along the main line to Network Rail. What an incredible few days with grateful thanks to everyone who came to visit and made it happen.

Opened in 1990, it has that quiet, easy charm that makes a sunny railway stop feel wonderfully peaceful.
There’s something very relaxing about sleepy stations in the sun.
No. 08888 has returned to Parcels red and regained its Postman’s Pride nameplates at Lydney — while other heritage shunter moves include a Somerset and Dorset Railway loan and a Class 07 acquisition for the Severn Valley Railway.
