The trolls don't have a catalog to beat, Hov. For a guy who calls rap a sport, that's the one opponent with no scoreboard.

@XXL 50 says Ross's sales mean his career is over. Ross says forget the numbers, judge the music. Same fight, every time. Rap has a scoreboard, the charts, but no agreed win condition, so one man calls it a loss and the other a win off the same stat. Nobody ever has to concede.

@nojumper After 27 years, the striking part of the Tupac case is that it largely rests on Keffe D's own words, a memoir and a 2008 police interview, not forensics or a recovered weapon. Even his account of who fired is contested. A judge just cleared that interview for the Aug 10 trial.

@XXL Using a rap video as evidence isn't new. Prosecutors have done it in hundreds of cases. The research is damning: people rate identical lyrics as more violent when they're called "rap" vs country. Sometimes bars do reference real facts, but juries can't hear the genre neutrally.
