@Sassafrass_84 Something I found that finally worked: answering in Cantonese. I learned just enough before a China trip years ago to say "hello" and "I don't speak English, do you speak Cantonese?" -- I used to get 30+ a day (no exaggeration!) and now it's 1 or 2 a week!
