Ok gang! Thank you for your follows and support over the last few years, it’s been fun but it’s time for the Geek Cop to leave twitter, follow my non police account @WestVaultRadio to keep track of my adventures! So long and thanks for all the fish!!
I’m soon going to be shutting this account down as I worry about the scrutiny police social media accounts are getting. However, please follow @WestVaultRadio which is me also! I’ve added all the people I follow to that account so if you follow me back that’d be fab!
You do realise you hateful cow that every Christmas period violent crime goes up? Or does that not fit into your racist little narrative? https://t.co/jYV51goRM0
@TVKev 2) potentially there are still relatives of victims still uninformed, I doubt you would like to be flippantly told that a family member was dead/seriously assaulted etc
Just some things to consider
@TVKev Hi Kevin, without knowing the circumstances behind the incident you described here are two reasons the officer was not able to tell you anything:
1) Outstanding suspects, maybe it was a crime scene and telling a stranger what's happened might end up telling a suspect
And
Absolutely cracking up watching @BBCNews at the new Brunel museum and the man who has clearly got up very early and is in costume as Brunel desperately trying to get into camera shot!!
Big thank you to James @madedotcom customer services, new chair arrived with wrong legs, called customer services, within an hour of chairs arrival James had sourced the correct legs and was ready to send them out to me. First rate customer service! #MADE
I think David Davies is jumping the gun a little with going right to a Mad Max post Brexit. Clearly there would be stages:
Children of Men
Britain in the 70s
Series one of Call The Midwife
Dickensian London
The sexy world of Jane Austen
The 1660s
Then Mad Max #BeyondThunderDome
@welshsquizz@Wilforth42 I've had to work directly with some supernintendos and I think as well as their names I ended up calling them everything bar skip.
@SuburbanFiveOh The truth is detectives won’t even accept a handover from uniform without statements of victims, all witness contacts or statements, CCTV enquiries and if you find any the downloads, evidence booked in and the report put on!
@SuburbanFiveOh I like everyone the way in TV land when detectives rock up to a scene all uniform appear to have done is put up the tape, in reality we’d already be taking statements, would have seized evidence, and probably found out where to get tea...
Dear writers of TV shows involving police,
1) Stop inflating detective ranks, DCIs don’t have time to actually investigate crimes, they coordinate investigations
2) Stop using uniform officers as set dressing, uniform PCs and detectives are allowed to speak to each other!
Job IT training in a nutshell:
Here is 3 hours of training on this new system we have spent a few million on. The first ten minutes will be explaining how it should work, the next 3 hours will be showing you work arounds because we couldn’t afford to have this done as standard!
