I've been critical hundreds of times, but I've bitten my tongue a thousand more.
If you ask me what my vision is, it's this, combined with parts of the modern era.
Look at that team below.
• Milan Biševac – 272 matches (Ligue 1 + Serie A)
• Boško Janković – 189 matches (LaLiga + Serie A)
• Dušan Basta – 200 matches (Serie A)
• Marko Pantelić – 117 matches (Bundesliga + Ligue 1)
• Nikola Žigić – 104 matches (LaLiga + Premier League)
• Aleksandar Luković – 107 matches (Serie A)
They went on to play 989 matches combined in the top five leagues. Compare that to the current team, where almost nobody is top five league worthy.
What a downfall.
The average age against Young Boys was just 22.5. Yes, they went out to PSV. But they did so after winning the first leg. That PSV side reached the Champions League semi-finals. That's a world apart from going out to Hapoel.
Now imagine that core with today's spending power. Add players like Hwang, Seol and Djiga to specifically address positional or physical shortcomings. That's a proper Europa League outsider.
Now imagine if Zvezda had kept Nedeljković, Milosavljević, Maksimović and Jovanović just one or two years longer. Those players from 2004 weren't necessarily bigger talents. They simply left as more mature footballers.
Which brings me to my final point. Who identifies with this current team? It feels like McDonald's. No flavour. That team gave people something to root for. A group of future internationals growing together.
Keeping players until they're 22 or 23 isn't realistic anymore. Keeping them beyond 18 absolutely is. But it all starts with having a clear vision for the future.
200 miliona stanovnika Brazila su idioti i zaslužili su ovo.
A mural was made of Maja Chwalinska in the place where her tennis journey first began.
She used to play against this wall when she was a kid.
Now, there’s a mural in her honor on that very same wall, created by Polish artist, Kawu.
Maja on the mural: “Oh yes, that really touched me deeply, because I spent the most time there during my career on those courts. And I also played against that wall, warmed up there, so it was truly very moving for me. Thank you.” 🥹

With the clay swing underway, it's worth revisiting the legacy of the players who dominated the surface 🔥
'King of Clay' Rafael Nadal won a staggering 63 titles on the surface, including 14 Roland Garros titles, the most titles by a player at a single Grand Slam. He holds the longest single-surface winning streak in men’s tennis with 81 consecutive matches won on clay between 2005 and 2007 👑
Chris Evert set the benchmark for dominance with her record 70 titles on clay. She has won 10 Grand Slam titles on this surface, including 7 Roland Garros titles and 3 US Open titles, during the brief period the tournament was played on Har- Tru clay. Between August 1973 and May 1979, Evert won 125 consecutive matches on clay, the longest single-surface winning streak in the Open Era for any player 💫
