I’m afraid this encapsulates what America has become. It’s this level of arrogance and inability to let the actions do the talking that leads to ridicule.

They got their star player out of jail, they thought they were invincible and got well and truly taken out for a walk by Belgium.

In many ways this is a reflection of how the world now views a nation who seem incapable of dealing with defeat. I’m fully expecting Trump to tariff Belgium today and ask for the game to be replayed.
