@CoachJulesAA The What & the How! Objective is to exploit space behind opponent's midfield line by overloading the midfield, double 10s positioned in half spaces between opponents defensive line and midfield line, positioned to receive on backfoot and progress to create goal scoring chance.

@CoachJulesAA Correct. Collective priority. We see the space for a ball over in behind but is that how they want to progress and penetrate or do they want a more fluid and dynamic way of entering those spaces to best progress and penetrate to create a goal scoring chance.
@CoachJulesAA Textbook. Prevent progress by denying space. Delay the attacker until there's cover. Get low to deflect him to the sideline. And then apply pressure to either tackle, force a mistake or force backwards.
@CoachJulesAA Top insights. Another reason why scanning is so important. Gathering the information, processing it and deciding what's the best possible action. Whether to progress, circulate or recycle. Top work, Coach.
🟢FOOTBALL CONCEPT🟢
Defensive line behaviours
The way a back 4 or 5 work together is crucial in determining how much space an opponent has to play through or behind 🧵
@Tactx_ I see. Midfield should screen the pass and be better positioned defensively. Wing-back’s body shape also wrong. Can’t be caught square in defensive line when a ball is going to be played in behind.

@Tactx_ Gvardiol positioning also puzzled me. The setup with Bernardo & Grealish in wide corridors, with Akanji & Gundo and Foden & Gvardiol pairing in half spaces, with Kovacic & Dias pairing in central corridor, and Haaland & Stones pairing as strikers. Looked proper and balanced.
