Home is Cornwall 〓〓❤️ All about the horses, cute animals, nature, hedgehogs, travel & cider 🍏#MNDawareness#Cider#Cornwall Views are my very own, I own them 😊
Ah, dandelions. 🌼
If only they were rare, fragile, and hard to cultivate.
Then we'd treasure them.
But because they are hardy and successful and forgiving and adaptable, we disparage them.
Consider them unworthy of our respect.
Even though they are the perfect plant - providing green all year round and cheerful flowers in the spring, are edible and highly nutritious, containing vitamins A, C, and K, along with minerals like calcium and iron, and are our precious pollinator's lifeline.
Please find a little love for these hard working flowers and leave them undisturbed, this month at least.
I'm paying £15000 into Your Bank Account if these Three Horses win at Aintree tomorrow.

A hedgehog *out in the open* in the day is in serious trouble and needs urgent help.
Always.
No exceptions.
Any size.
Any time.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal prey animals, they have no defences in the daytime, it's deadly dangerous for them.
They are designed to hunt at night, to navigate and catch insects in the dark, occupying a specific ecological niche.
They are not adapted to withstand high temperatures, and their shape means they would rapidly dehydrate during daylight hours.
They are nocturnal animals.
So they don't come out in the day simply because they're hungry, or lost, or disturbed, or to move nests, or for any other trivial reason.
They come out in the day because it's warmer than the night and they are feeling cold.
Deadly cold.
They're feeling cold because they're so sick they're starting to die, and hypothermia is a stage of dying. Blood has been redirected to the vital organs, keeping them alive as long as possible, leaving the limbs feeling cold.
If you see a hedgehog like this, out in the open, in the day time, no matter how 'well' he looks, it is an emergency.
Please take them to a rescue (never a vet) URGENTLY.

Yesterday and this morning I've had lots of calls about hedgehogs seen out during the day.
Please make no mistake, this is an emergency.
A hedgehog out in the day is seriously ill and needs 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 treatment from a rescue (never a vet).
These are hedgehogs who have risen from hibernation too early, because there wasn't enough natural food around in the autumn for them to gain sufficient fat to make it through hibernation until the spring.
There's NO natural food around now, so they've been forced to eat contaminated parasite-laden food like slugs, and are now critically ill.
As a stage of dying they've become hypothermic so are seeking warmth and are often seen on roads, car parks, paving and paths, as these surfaces hold the the sun's heat longer than soil or grass.
Feeding them won't fix them.
They need treatment URGENTLY.
Please take them straight to a good rescue.
