I remember when Soul Plane leaked six months before its release. The first-time director tried to convince MGM to just put it out early, but they waited—and by the time it hit theaters, so many people had already seen it that it flopped. He never got another studio film after that.
My agent at the time even said, “It’s too bad your people don’t support Black movies.” I fired her on the spot. Soul Plane did become a cult classic and I get residuals still to this day.
A Gen Z joined the team.
Week one.
During onboarding, the manager said,
“We sometimes stay late during peak periods.”
Gen Z nodded.
Then asked,
“Is that paid… or just expected?”
The room went quiet.
- No attitude.
- No rebellion.
- Just a question.
Later that day, HR mentioned “growth opportunities.”
Gen Z replied,
“Does growth include raises, or just more responsibility?”
Again, silence.
- No laziness.
- No entitlement.
- Just clarity.
That’s when the team realized something.
When people say
“Gen Z is lazy,”
what they really mean is:
Gen Z watched old generation
- skip meals,
- miss birthdays,
- work weekends,
- and burn out
only to be told
“budgets are tight”
and “be grateful you have a job.”
So Gen Z chose differently.
- They don’t romanticize overwork.
- They don’t confuse suffering with ambition.
- They don’t trade health for praise.
They still work hard.
They just refuse to work for nothing.
It’s not laziness.
It’s pattern recognition.
And honestly,
after everything old generation went through…
Can you really blame them?
wearing it was not an option. I said eff it. Imma get it signed. So I waited and waited after the game. KG was last out. I approach with jersey in hand and asked if he would sign. He sized me up and says “Imma sign this cuz you a big muhfucka”. Thanks @KevinGarnett5KG 😂😂😂
not only did Jeff Teague put his homeboys on.. he plays the background so they can shine even more because he already had his time in the sun.. everybody aint a real one like that 🫡 💯 🔥
I can tell your only exposure to black people comes via the internet. I’m gonna give you some advice.
Find a black circle of influence at work/school. There’s clubs you can sign up for. Join one and show up regularly. Be vocal and participate in discussion.
You have no relationship with a black community. But you’re half black. That’s weird and it’s making you weird. You need community and someone from said community to put their arms around you.
Marlo walks, Templelton gets a Pulitzer, Valchek's the commissioner, Nerese is the mayor, Carcetti's the governor, Rawls heads the State Police & The Greek still runs everything. Perfect.
“Got to. This America, man.”
Black barbershop used to be jump like this. Two grown men who really ain't got beef, they just frustrated cuz it's 3 hrs wait for a cut. They bout to fight while 9 yr old you is calmly reading Highlights & a Jet Magazine from 1967.
“When we decline to speak ill of the dead, it’s because we have compassion for the living. In this respect, I am sorry for Kirk’s children. I don’t know if Kirk was a good father, but if he was, that does little to mitigate the damage he did to other people’s children.”
This will be my last tweet on the matter because i believe if you spend your entire life being hateful and racist, you don’t deserve to be respected and remembered when you pass. You get made fun of and promptly forgotten
These worms don’t want to debate you. They want to farm you for weird gotchas. Remember how Kirk would delete the debates he lost? It isn’t about starting a dialogue. “Debating” for them is about getting more eyes on their insane rhetoric so it seems more normal
