Tennis records as probabilities. Our statistical model simulates every future tournament and ranking week from results, rankings, age curves, injuries and more.
Sinner's season is over, so it's no longer if, but when. Our model has Zverev at No. 1 on November 2 in six of ten simulations, and by November 16 in all of them. He's set to become the first German man to finish a year on top.

@TennisTV@AlexZverev The 20th different year-end No. 1 in ATP history, and the first German. Becker made it to the top in 1991 but never finished a season there.
Zverev is set to become the second-oldest first-time world No. 1 in ATP history, behind only John Newcombe in 1974. He'll be a few weeks older than Andy Murray was in 2016.
At 25, Sinner has exactly as many Grand Slams as Djokovic had at that age. Djokovic went on to win 19 more. Our model's middle path takes Sinner to 12. Can he do a Djokovic?

At 23, Alcaraz has more Grand Slams than Federer, Nadal or Djokovic had at the same age. Our model's middle path takes him to 17, fourth on the all-time list. Too low?
@PuntoDBreak Our model, injuries included, gets him past 20 in about one in five careers. Half of the simulations end with at least 17, which would already make him No. 4 of all time.
@tennisweeklypod The ranking rewards the whole year, and his was remarkably steady. He's the only man who reached the semis or better at all four majors in 2026, with two titles among them.
@Tiempodetenis1 He'll also be the first German man to finish a year at No. 1. Becker got to the top in 1991, but never at season's end. Here's when Zverev takes over: https://t.co/Tnr5aKsE3M

@jmgmoron And they drop in three steps: Vienna's 500 on October 26, Paris's 1,000 on November 2 and Turin's 1,500 on November 16. Zverev can take over on the 2nd if he earns enough in Shanghai and Vienna.
@atptour First Beijing title in 2009, five more in the 2010s, and now one in the 2020s. Three decades at the same tournament without losing a single match there.
@UniversTennis Get well soon, Jannik. Even from the sidelines he stays No. 1 until at least the end of October, which makes 95 weeks. Agassi's 101 for ninth all-time is a nice target for 2027.
@carlosalcaraz Ten matches in Tokyo, ten wins. Next up is Shanghai, one of the three Masters titles you're still missing, along with Canada and Paris. Good luck!
