Can’t believe we’re potentially seeing a season where both Glenavon and Crusaders could get relegated and replaced by Limavady, Annagh or Welders. I don’t think I’d 100% trust either side to beat them in a playoff. #nifl

This is a disaster.

Goal line technology in NIFL is probably a non-starter due to under investment in our stadia and the cost involved to install and maintain. We’ve tried Goal Judges and that led to the circus that was the 2015 Irish Cup final. Goal line cameras viewed by 4th officials could work.

No doubt the incident with the 2nd goal at Windsor yesterday was a howler. Frustrating, and it shouldn’t happen, but it did.

Before jumping on those involved, let’s remember they’re human. They’ve got feelings, families, and it’s easy for faceless accounts to pile in, criticise and of course be abusing. Credit to Niall Currie too for how professional he was in his post match interviews.

Honestly, I’ve seen more good performances from refs this season than bad ones, but yes, mistakes have happened. We all love giving our opinions and that’s part of football! but as authorities we have a responsibility to make sure lessons are learned, improvements are made, and referees get the support they need.

Mistakes can actually open the door for change. As a league, we’ll try to sit down with the Irish FA to talk this through. Personally, I think it’s time for a fresh structure for our senior refs, proper investment, and while not always popular, maybe technology must now be seriously considered.

@KickingMatch Two red cards for this type of foul in the space of a week. I wonder how many incidents like this will make up the red card count come the end of the season. 🤔

@KeithJBailie @BelTel For David Jeffrey, as a winner of the Setanta Cup in 2005, do you think the competition should have been given more status back in the day? Also, with the gap in quality between IL and LOI getting closer - could the competition return in the future?

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

@BallyclareFC Very sad story. Well done to both clubs for preserving your history and commemorating Frank all these years later. RIP Frank from Portadown FC supporters.

It wasn't pretty but we fought right to the end!
Ards next 👊🔴⚪

97th minute of the game...

Step up Eoghan McCawl 😲

What a moment for @Portadownfc 🔥

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

The state of our National Team is just abysmal. There’s no way inform Irish League players wouldn’t do a better job than some of that lot…

Horrendous campaign.

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

I'll just leave this here 👀🤣🪦

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

Bitterly disappointed with the outcome. But immensely proud of Niall, the staff and most of the players for the turnaround since Jan.
No doubts we will be back. Tie down the right players. Strengthen some areas. And remove the deadwood. We go again 🔴⚪️

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

What Niall, the coaching staff and the new recruits have done to the squad is nothing short of a miracle.
The fact we can still stay up is still unbelievable..
BUT
That was shite tonight. We are so much better than that. 3 MUST WIN games now.

[The Red Element @TheRedElement]

@the_peakys There definitely needs to be a conversation between @irishfa @OfficialNIFL and clubs about a way forward with this. Pyro, used safely, brings so much atmosphere to a match.

Lee Bonis would ruffle a few feathers up front for Northern Ireland.

I want to take this opportunity to praise Cathair Friel! This man puts in 110% every week. Do whatever you can to make this deal permanent PFC.

Hi @The_Sam_North! Welcome to NI and enjoy the match today. Best wee league in the world. Make sure you come back in a few weeks time for the @portadownfc survival. A miracle is about to happen. 🇦🇹🇦🇹
