Wearing a shirt saying "I ❤️Valve but I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wish their internal polices didn't have medium wide negative consequences for Visual Novels".
@PoltFan69 What dialogue do you think relevantly changes the clarity of Naoto's character? The only thing I can really think of is when boku->watashi was changed to be about voice pitch but that's pretty far in already.
@amen_handle Aside from those projecting, It's really just a tactic of posturing; framing the discussion as effectively settled. Even if you can prove your firsthand experience they'll just say "then you're just stupid lol"
It's really funny to notice that people all use the exact same images when they talk about Naoto, it's so clear that none of these people played the game for themselves to form their own thoughts they're just regurgitating something they heard someone else say
@Evilagram Well, a lot of people are talking about it on mine. I typically don't go out of my way to talk about this subject unless it's as response (in this case, general and indirect) to something I'm seeing people discuss.
Interesting to witness the combination of brain matter leakage and inability to see women as capable of having emotional depth which must be necessary to produce the opinion "Nagata Kabi didn't suffer that much"
Why are the two (2) beliefs on Naoto either "this is feminist commentary" or "Naoto is nonbinary" when neither is true? Do people want so badly to interpret Persona 4 as extremely politically progressive despite it giving little more than one-off acknowledgements to such topics?
Also I'm pretty sure most of the screenshots and image edits are also from that Vita footage. So the order of events might be people who never played the game talk about it on YouTube, and then people who also never played the game repeat them on this website
Most of the videos where you see people talking about Naoto source the same footage of the Shadow Naoto cutscene that's so old it was literally someone playing it on the Vita. (Or rather, they don't source it, they just use it without giving credit)
@amen_handle The funny thing is that these people also view her arc as anti-trans, but they think of that as being a good thing, so to them it's a stark disagreement regardless of the substance of the criticism
The way it makes use of the Wii controller is just such an integral part that if you were to change it to make it work on a modern standard controller you'd just be removing one of its most essential characteristics. It's just something different at that point
I've seen some people express the desire for a remake of Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon and I understand part of that is motivated by the fact that playing it on anything but original hardware is inadequate but that's also precisely the reason why it can't be remade
