I have copied this part to draw attention to the current scam and to encourage people to go to her substack.

"Apparently this is a thing. You get a fake email alleging violation of copyright rules. I’m now told this is a phishing attempt. Someone sends you an email, and when you click, you’ve unwittingly given them the password to your account. Then they lock you out of it.

I guess that’s what happened.

Am I an idiot? Maybe. I’m not generally stupid. But I guess I fell for this. I’m not going to be too angry at myself for doing my best to play by the rules. People often get locked out of X for TERFing (yes, even under Elon’s ownership). It wasn’t wrong of me to assume this was legitimate.

Also, I’m GenX. We are very good at drinking from water hoses and getting through a day of detention on a Saturday if we have to.

We’re not exactly known to be social media savvy.

I mentioned yesterday that I received this charming message through my website last Friday afternoon:

This is just how it is when you’re a TERF. Rape and death threats, mass reporting, and suggestions to kill yourself.

So now I’m out of X.

Over the years, I had actually come to like it, notwithstanding my initial resistance. I had come to rely on it for news. Not the actual facts; I don’t just assume that everything posted on social media is true. A lot of stuff gets posted that isn’t true at all. But I would rely on X for news of what’s happening in the world of gender flippity-flam. I would fact-check everything, of course, relying on multiple other sources before sharing it here or on X, but I did rely on X for breaking news. And I loved interacting with the global terven.

And now I’m out. But I’m not giving up.
