actually looking into this more - despite what it says inside the cover it's not from 1980 it's likely a ~1985 10th or 11th printing. Nothing I ever looked into as I'm not a collector but interesting the little discrepancy in the book

@DanielDnDYT you're example is exactly what I'm talking about in order for me to "force you" to prove it isn't AI there will need to be some bar that the judge will accept that my case has merit.

detectors are an arms race and will never be good enough IMO

and how does one prove innocent?

I've seen a lot of "concern" from different groups about the copyright status of AI works (code, written word, etc)... but I've never seen anyone explain how in practical, real-world ways, copyright would be challenged or proof of AI would be determined.

@DanielDnDYT The Georgia case won't result in a re-trial, the judge clearly stated they simply want the motion cleaned up due to cited sources being obviously wrong and that AI itself isn't the issue it's the incorrect case citations. No change to outcome of case

@EveraeGames @DanielDnDYT As long as you are willing to accept the fact that being public about issues that have strong battle lines is going to cost you sales then go for it. Only you know how important sharing those views is to you and make that trade off... the point is to accept there is a tradeoff

@DanielDnDYT There is but that distinction only matters if the company account is massively known and the personal one isn't.. if the personal account is the one that is larger people will simply see them as one in the same.

@DanielDnDYT The big personality showman thing works well when one of the few (or first) choices in the market. Elon can do it with Tesla at the start (less now), Jobs could do it with Apple, but *MOST* companies don't have that same moat around them.

@DanielDnDYT I think if your goal is be successful at selling a product aimed at a wide market and you are making yourself the face of it all - then yeah keep your *PUBLIC* persona pretty neutral on things. Privately go ham.

@DanielDnDYT That's because I think OP (and many in our space) believe selling their persona is as important as selling the product.

What's the saying better to keep your mouth shut and let them think you are a fool than open..

@DanielDnDYT If the CEO of LAMY started using the company to promote his personal divisive beliefs rather than simply offering the product that people wants, then he loses sales rightfully.

Not saying you CANT do that - just in many cases its likely unwise.

@DanielDnDYT I like LAMY pens - I don't know nor wish to know their politics ... and there is no point of them sharing theirs because there are tons of pen makers for ppl to choose from why give people a reason NOT to choose yours for example.

Anyone picking this up get the 25th Anniv audiobook you get to hear Morrie at the end.

@EricDiaz_RPG @DanielDnDYT I will get to them eventually (I get OCD about not completing series) but I try and balance fantasy/scifi/non-fiction so it will be a bit before I get back to classic fantasy again.

Hopefully finish a short non fiction im reading today and then need to plan out August reading

Due to a post by @DanielDnDYT I picked up and read A Wizard of Earthsea. It's a short (although slow paced) 1960s high fantasy story. Not much in the way of character building but an interesting magic system, very cool dragon scene, and standard heroes journey. 3/5
