SECOND LIEUTENANT ARUN KHETARPAL was an INDIAN ARMY OFFICER who was posthumously awarded the PVC ,for his remarkable courage during 1971 Indo-Pakistani War ,he was 21 year old when he died in action.

KHETARPAL was born in Pune into a family with military background .He join NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY in 1967 and was commissioned into the POONA HORSE ,a CAVALRY regiment of the INDIAN ARMY ,in 1971 .
In 1971 ,INDO -PAK WAR broke out and Khetarpal regiment was deployed in the Shakargarh sector of the western front and then war begin Khetarpal leading a troop of 3 tanks , bravely counter - attacked the enemy and destroyed four Pakistani tanks ,despite being wounded ,he refused to withdraw and continued to fight until his tank was hit and destroyed ,when Khetarpal was offered the chance to retreat during the battle then he said “MY BOYS ARE FIGHTING ,I CANNOT LEAVE THEM” after being wounded he still refuse to leave the tank ,from the battle his courage can be imagined by his words during war .

A senior IAS officer was arrested by the CBI on his last working day before retirement in the Rs 169 crore Haryana State Pollution Control Board fund diversion case.

Investigators allege Pardeep Kumar approved transfers meant for fixed deposits, but the money was siphoned off through a fake bank account as part of a wider ₹504 crore banking fraud.

The CBI says the probe is ongoing and more arrests could follow.
