I think that Apple saw an opportunity to get people into the Mac ecosystem while the PC industry was (is) reeling from high RAM and SSD costs.

They took it.

Haven't checked Geekbench yet to see the performance numbers of the RTX SoC.

It was always the software (Windows install, Dell softare, etc.)
