The AR instinct is to ban everything instead of looking for a solution.
No one wants to see seals hurt or killed, so how do we allow thousands of people to play with flying rings and keep seals and other animals safe?

Sadly that is not the AR Way. The AR way consists of regulation, control, bans, and if possible prosecutions.
This is not just instinctive Puritanism. If the ARs can make people resent animals they are halfway to popularising their exclusion from society altogether.
It was one day and the miseries were out in force trying to cause trouble. Do you think that some of them are regretting having missed the opportunity to live in the former East German surveillance state?
“ . . . . a promotion designed to move more cats into permanent homes — and ease growing pressure on Clark County's shelter system. From June 15 through June 30, prospective adopters can bring home a cat 6 months or older for half the standard adoption fee.”
Never let them tell you that they are inundated with animals and need you to give them more money because just like every other business all they need to do to move sticky stock is to cut their prices, something shelters elsewhere understand perfectly well.

Compulsory micro-chipping and changes to the law on pet theft have done nothing to ensure the safety of dogs or to prevent theft.
Micro-chipping was always about creating a data base for the authorities, not pet safety.

The laws of unintended consequences are all over the issues highlighted in this article. When will they ever learn to leave existing human-animal interaction alone?
By mass spay-neuter policies the ARs have culled the friendly dog lines and left the human shy lines to breed leaving the people and children that were protected from feline predators by those dogs to become ever more brave in their attacks.

Leaving the majority to be penalised for whatever they have done online in the past as the laws change around them?
No wonder Elon Musk is incandescent on our behalf.
Just like the government ,the RSPCA wants to shelve its responsibilities and inability to deal with offending by punishing the entire population and forcing them to hand their ID to big tech companies.
What could possibly go wrong?

Data breaches?
Personal information sold to scammers?
While those who are tech savvy can get around the blocks and probably put themselves in even more danger?

Don't call the ER & AR people activists, they are not. To give them and their activities their correct name they are criminals, thieves, burglars, vandals and self-righteous arrogant Puritans who believe that only their way is right and every other way must be destroyed.
