It's that time of year again...But Co-teaching doesn't have to be hard. The biggest challenge is your willingness to share not only your physical space but your brain space. Like all relationships, Co-teaching relationships need to be nurtured. Plan your nurturing sessions now!!!
Very often people will ask why students are behaving inappropriately...More than likely my answer is TRAUMA. We must take the time to listen and research the backgrounds of our students before reaching a conclusion. Trauma is real and the impact is devastating.
I listen to adults talk about what students are unable to do all day. I get it, because it is the nature of my job now. But, sometimes I just wish someone would talk about what a student is able to do. It would bring me such pleasure!
