The Spokane, Portland & Seattle 700 is a 4-8-4 Baldwin locomotive that was built in 1938. It is maintained by the Pacific Railroad Preservation Association.

With the assistance of the SP4449 crew, we annealed all forty-eight of our small flue tubes yesterday. This step is to soften the metal for rolling the tube upon installation for a pressed fit into the tube sheet. #15yearinspection #steamboilerrebuild #anneal #fluetubes

WE DID IT!! The last of the boiler patches is completed! even started to weld in stay bolts today. The first 5 of 203 are completed.

For those curious - we have 124 flexible and 79 fixed stay bolts that will be installed

@NW_Daylight Yeah, typo's happen. But, what a great photo! I look forward to getting her back under steam again. By the way - we worked on some of her plumbing this week and the new air compressor supply pipe seems to fit even better than the original one did. Cool stuff!
