These tactics by the KMT makes more sense when you understand their history as authoritarians who never saw Taiwan as their home and would rather undermine Taiwan’s democracy from within so it becomes another Hong Kong.

@hataruk Yeah I did not even recall it coming. Hit me like an absolute rock in emotional ways I was not expecting
Specifically all the anger, moreso since not much I can do directly right now
People in D.C. I have talked to literally bend over backwards and do Olympic level mental gymnastics to try to avoid war. I disagree with a good chunk of those mental gymnastics. But I also know they would defend Taiwan too
To make the point crystal clear, literally no one in DC actually wants China to attack Taiwan. Everyone would prefer a peaceful solution that lets Taiwan’s democracy and dignity endure. The balance of power is too obviously well matched, and the potential costs of war so high as to be obviously catastrophic.
@nikstankovic_@Matt_Schrader_ Fuck off wank
The results would be catastrophic for Taiwan, the languages here, the culture, the indigenous cultures specifically, history, freedom, and democracy etc etc
Go look at how invaders treated Ukrainians. Go stare at the dead bodies. Then fuck off again you twat
June 6: two men and a woman were arrested at the Hong Kong Stadium because they turned their backs toward the pitch and did not stand up for the playing of the national anthem.
If convicted, they face up to three years in jail and a fine of HK$50,000 (US$6,400).

@WilliamYang120 I’m so confused why you are taking this stance and seemingly ignoring Fu Kun-chi’s and the KMT dancing with CCP officials last month? There is absolutely a wider context going on here. The protests were far from a pro-DPP bubble, I assume you were there?
Peaceful #TaiwanProtests in opposition to just-passed legislation continue in #Taipei, with Doublethink Lab raising awareness of pro-Beijing info ops targeting the protest movement. Such messaging suggests protestors are 'ignorant' enemies of #democracy who are paid to attend 1/
@FengkaiLin28 & @asura1981 shared our research 👇 showing that China’s primary aim is to divide Taiwan society, framing the protests as DPP-led so that KMT-TPP supporters stay away. Opposition should not be a party political issue! 2/

@ParkerJWalton @wentisung Where the fuck did that narrative come from? I’m not picking on you, but it’s fucking bollocks and I’m trying to figure out where it came from b/c I’ve been out almost everyday and… I don’t bloody get it
This is probably by far the most beautiful graphic made for Blue Bird Action.
The blue feather indicates the action symbol, the shape of the feather is Taiwan island.
KMT caucus chair Fu Kun-chi just announced that the KMT and TPP will create a “special investigative unit” (特偵組) inside parliament to uncover the DPP’s “various fraud cases”. This will likely include investigations into the handling of vaccines, surgical masks and, yes, eggs.
1) Law passes in Taiwan after KMT/TPP abuses democratic process
2) Saw a marked shift in reporting as of last Friday night (e.g., KMT AcTuAlLy not that bad)
3) Feel Washington has been silent
4) Only betrayal is timeless
This is part of the playbook for economic coercion.
It’s not that different from anyone else in any other profession that relies on staying in good standing in China so they can continue making money there.
