@mhmck This isn't Russian nihilism. There was a coup. Possibly somewhat of a justified coup. Sometimes coups are justified (although this one is more debatable). But this isn't exactly "Russian nihilism".
@ErinInTheMorn Except that it doesn't fit the definition of genocide. Michael's ideas are horrifying and EXTREMELY transphobic and should be resisted but they are not genocide.
@stayebaly@mehdirhasan I love how they just presume that journalism as an institution should prioritize being anti-right wing over being objective. As if the assumption should be from the get go that the left is right and we work backwards from that conclusion.
@mehdirhasan You are just rationalizing ignoring facts for partisan purposes. Sorry but Nate described your partisan zealotry and lack of journalistic integrity to a tee and no amount of "bUt tRuMp...." rationalizations are gonna change that.
@KyoungTraleMix@punishedmother No-that's the point. Its a joke based on in your face absurdity and subversion. Don't know why people are making such a deal out of this.
@DelusionPosting In theory maybe but the treatment of dogs on those meat farms are horrific. And before anyone says anything-yes many factory farms in the West are also horrific. Two wrongs don't make a right.
@etbadabim@whatifalthist Diverse countries though are not as uncommon as you think. That's why I have been saying that ethnicity is a poor foundation for a state. While the French ethnicity is coherent now-like many other countries they faked it til they made til they kinda all saw themselves as French.
@AriDrennen Michael's strategy-even if it weren't repugnant is stupid. Embracing right wing extremism because of some simplistic idea of how culture wars work isn't gonna make society how you want it. Its just gonna incite an equal and opposite reaction from left &create MORE left extremists
