For decades the conversation has been enrichment levels, shipping lanes, ceasefires, and another round of talks with the same regime. His Majesty asked the question that should have come first: why are the Iranian people not at the centre of this conversation?

The men and women massacred in the streets were not dying for a nuclear bargain. They were not dying so someone in Washington or Brussels could keep managing the Strait of Hormuz.

They were dying for freedom.
The Islamic Republic will not change. Not through negotiation. Not through appeasement. Not through a memorandum that gives it time to reload. Talks are how this regime buys oxygen while it fills the prisons and empties the cells onto the gallows.

His Majesty named one of them in front of that international room: Ali Zarei. Twenty-seven years old. Shot in the eye during Woman, Life, Freedom.

He went back into Iran to keep fighting. He is now in solitary confinement facing execution. The question His Majesty put to the democracies of the West was Ali’s question: will you stand with me, or sacrifice me once again?

Stop looking to the Islamic Republic for a solution. The regime is not a difficult partner. It is the source of the crisis. Keep investing in it and you keep buying instability and terrorism.

Stand with the Iranian people and you stand with the free world’s natural partners, a nation that can deliver peace, security, and economic opportunity instead of militias and blackmail.

A free Iran does not require American or European soldiers on Iranian soil. It does not require another taxpayer-funded war. The people inside Iran are already carrying the fight. What they ask of the West is not occupation. It is that you stop throwing a lifeline to their executioners.

His Majesty also said who he has been for 47 years. After he finished U.S. Air Force pilot training, Saddam invaded Iran. He volunteered to go home and fight the invader, knowing the Islamist regime could kill him for returning.

That has been the whole of his life since: service to Iran and to Iranians. Not a family privilege. A national duty. Their lives are tied to Iran’s fate, and this struggle does not end until Iran is free.

The solution America and Europe have been searching for is not another deal with the Islamic Republic. It is the people of Iran.

آیا چین رژیم را رسماً خواهد فروخت؟

اسم رابطهٔ چین و رژیم مهم نیست. واقعیتِ موجود مهم است. جمهوری اسلامی سال‌ها این رابطه را «شراکت راهبردی» و نگاه به شرق فروخته است. در آیین قدرت اما شعار وزنی ندارد. هزینه و فایده وزن دارد.

واقعیت موجود از لحاظ همین منطقِ هزینه و فایده این است: رژیم سال‌ها نقش سگ دست‌آموز چین را بازی کرده است. چین سال‌ها رژیم را استثمار کرده است. سگی که حالا هاری گرفته و دیگر از کنترل صاحبش خارج است. دائماً دیگر شرکای چین در منطقه را گاز می‌گیرد. شریان نفتی را به‌خطر می‌اندازد. قیمت بازار نفت را متزلزل می‌کند. رژیم سگ هاری است افسارگسیخته، و چین نیز صاحبی است که چاره‌ای ندارد جز اینکه بخواهد از شرّش خلاص شود.

چین کمونیستیِ ضداسلام، به اسلام احتیاجی ندارد. چین به عشق اسلام از یک رژیم اسلامی حمایت نمیکند. بلکه چین به رژیم آخوندی احتیاج دارد چون نفت دارد، در جغرافیای سیاسی فوق‌العاده مهمی قرار دارد و روی شریان انرژی منطقه نشسته است.

برای پکن معادله ساده است: نفت ارزان؟ بله. مسیر و بازار؟ بله. نفوذ در خاورمیانه؟ بله. جنگی که هرمز را ببندد و اقتصاد چین را گروگان بگیرد؟ نه!

افسانهٔ متحد همیشگی همین‌جا ترک برمی‌دارد. دولت‌ها دوست و دشمن ابدی ندارند. منافع دائمی دارند. در سیاست هیچ شراکت و دوست دائمی وجود ندارد. هرجا منافع به خطر افتاد، شراکت هم به خطر افتاد. منافع که زیر پا گذاشته شود، شراکت پایان می‌یابد.

معاملهٔ نفتی، پیمان دفاعی نیست.
طرف‌های چینی سال‌ها نفت تحریم‌شده را با تخفیف خریدند. رژیم نفت ایران را به حراج گذاشت و پول را گاهی زیر قیمت گرفت، و یا گاهی هم که اصلاً نگرفت. پکن اما نفت مفت و ارزان گرفت.

آنچه عوض شده، ریسک است. تنگهٔ هرمز برای چین شوخی نیست. اگر عبور انرژی مختل شود، پکن هم هزینه می‌پردازد. چین و آمریکا در ده‌ها پرونده دشمن‌اند. اما، در یک پرونده می‌توانند هم‌راستا شوند: جریان انرژی نباید قطع شود.

رژیمِ خودویرانگر آخوندی، آمریکا و چین را بار دیگر در کنار هم قرار داد.

هرگاه رژیم آخوندی بخواهد هرمز را ابزار فشار کند، فقط واشنگتن نیست که ضرر می‌کند. مستقیم به منافع حیاتی چین هم ضربه می‌زند.

هیچ قدرت بزرگی برای نجات یک حکومت خارجی، شریان خودش را قربانی نمی‌کند. چین می‌تواند هم‌زمان دو کار کند: امروز نفت بخرد، فردا برای دولت بعدی (دولت گذار با رهبری رضاشاه دوم) آماده باشد. تاجر از فروشنده‌ای که آینده‌اش مبهم است ارزان‌تر می‌خرد. این حمایت سیاسی نیست. مدیریت شرایط است.

رژیم وقتی خطرناک‌تر می‌شود که دیگر برای حامی‌اش مفید نباشد. حکومت فقط با باتوم زنده نمی‌ماند. به پول و منابع و این اطمینان نیاز دارد که در لحظهٔ بحران تنها نمی‌ماند.
اگر این اطمینان بشکند، محاسبهٔ داخل هم عوض می‌شود. سرکوبگر، مزدور، مقامات و عوامل رژیم فقط امروز را نمی‌بینند. فردا را می‌سنجند. اینجا فشار خارجی به شکاف داخلی می‌رسد.

وقتی حکومتی دیگر نتواند روی حمایت خارجی و حاشیهٔ امن حساب کند، معادلات میدان هم عوض می‌شود.

انتظار معجزه از شی نداشته باشید.
دفتر تاریخ را بخوانید. شی گوشی برنمی‌دارد که بگوید دیگر از آخوندها حمایت نمی‌کنیم. سیاست این‌طور کار نمی‌کند. ممکن است نفت همچنان برود. ممکن است زمزمهٔ مذاکره همچنان روی میز بماند. ممکن است پکن حتی در برابر بعضی فشارهای آمریکا از رژیم حرفی بزند.

اما مسئلهٔ اصلی این نیست. مسئله این است: چین برای حفظ جمهوری اسلامی حاضر است چقدر هزینه بدهد؟

اگر پاسخ روزبه‌روز کوچک‌تر شود، معنایش از هر بیانیه‌ای مهم‌تر است. رژیم‌ها وقتی می‌میرند که دیگران تصمیم بگیرند برای نجات‌شان خرج نکنند.

چین لازم نیست جمهوری اسلامی را بیندازد. کافی است حاضر نباشد دیگر به حفظ آن کمک کند.

مسئله دیگر این نیست که چین کی رژیم را رها می‌کند. سؤال این است: اگر جمهوری اسلامی واقعاً تنها شد، این تنهایی کی رسماً تیتر جهان می‌شود؟ شاید لحظه‌ای این را بفهمیم که دیگر رژیم وجود ندارد. شاید این موضوع همین الان اتفاق افتاده است و ما غرق در این واقعیتیم و بی‌توجه به آن و شایدهای دیگر.

آن چیز که امروز مسلّم است، سقوط رژیم آخوندی و بازگشت شاه ایران است. سقوطی که نزدیک است و بازگشتی که حتمی است. این چرخهٔ تاریخ ایران است و از آن گریزی نیست. در سرزمین شاهان، شاه هرگز نمی‌میرد. بلکه همواره بازمی‌گردد. رضاشاه دوم بازمی‌گردد. روی اسب‌های بازنده (رژیم و پنجاه‌وهفتی‌ها) شرط‌بندی نکنید. کارت آس و برنده، کارت شاه است.
