Pronounced:ˈbaːdər. Co-Founder of Jax Podcasters United. Professional moderator and interviewer. Host of The Short Box: A Comic Book Talk Show (2012-present)
My heart is full, and my voice is STILL hoarse. Jax Podathon 2024 was a huge success 🫡
We raised $800 for charity, gave out our first JPU Awards, and brought close to 100 podcasters from all over NEFL together for our best event yet.
Thank you, Jax
Calling all FL Podcasters...There's a FREE screening of the podcast documentary movie: Age of Audio, this Wednesday at @WJCTJax, followed by a Q&A panel with the director @openendedfilms
We'll be passing out special Jax edition AoA movie posters too (art by Clay Doran).
I interviewed Brian Wiedman two years ago to talk about life as a professional comic book auctioneer at @HeritageAuction , and all the cool places he's been to find some of the world's rarest comics. It remains one of my favorite interviews to date

Since @HeritageAuction has been in the news for setting another world record for a comic book sale, I think it's a perfect time to remind everyone of the auctioneer who yet again is part of history:
Yoo! New SBX Merch is here. I'm talking about all new shirt designs, and for the first time ever: long sleeves and hoodies!
And none of that DTG bullshit, these will high quality screen printed on Comfort Colors. Pre-orders going on now!

@CoyJandreau Genuinely curious. With the sheer volume of comics you read weekly, how do you manage storage, do you keep a lot of short boxes around or do you donate/ giveaway?
@jpalmiotti I have a few of these annual stock reports in my eBay cart right now, had no idea you were involved with them. My Uncle-in-law, who works in finance, said he used to collect them every year. There’s some damn good art in them!
There's plenty more hip-hop stories and comic book talk where that came from, as well as some great introspection about fatherhood and creating art for the next generation, in the full interview

Everything about Czarface, from the music, branding, and merchandise, is all steeped in Silver-Age comic book lore. And it's not just for show.
A few highlights from my conversation with group member Esoteric 🪡
Esoteric talks about realizing at a young age the overlap and parallels between hip-hop and comics, and what he viewed as kindred spirits in both art forms
I work 6 plus days a week about 10 hours a day on comics. Sometimes more, hardly ever less.
I make less than almost all my friends not making comics-pay my own healthcare, have no company pension, but forever loyal to those I work for - and spend my money investing in my own books and characters.
I have a website where I sell my work- https://t.co/quH8lTlTev and I really do love my job.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sneak peek at something coming in 2026 below.
David and Chip are both on this week's SBX pod talking about digital collectibles vs NFT, the golden years of Comixology, creator rights and equity, and what the future holds for DSTLRY
