Ski Tutor aims to make skiing accessible and enjoyable for newcomers and veterans alike. We believe that skiing is more than just a sport: it's a lifestyle.
We're officially live on YouTube! For the first Let’s Ski video, we’re tackling Roberto’s—a double black diamond at Snowmass, CO. Steep pitches, moguls, and tips for skiing safely down expert terrain. Check it out! https://t.co/JH6BvCdghx
It took me ~20 years to become an advanced to low expert skier.
Can you become one in a single season? Yes, but it's unlikely unless you go full ski bum. It takes a combination of technique proficiency, mental resilience, and practice. Tap to read more. https://t.co/A0jnLNRUBb
Unpopular opinion: Moguls aren't torture; they're teachers. Conquer them, and you’ve officially leveled up. You'll improve your confidence on ungroomed terrain by 100x or more.
Don't chase the hardest trails yet. Solidify your intermediate skills first. You'll thank me later when you're effortlessly carving blues. For many skiers that is their goal and peak (pun intended)!
Are you wondering how long it REALLY takes to move through the phases of intermediate skiing? Oh yes, there are phases. And plateaus. It's frustrating and enjoyable all the same! Get the scoop below. https://t.co/qZo3fEZgZX
Skiing with friends who are more advanced than you is more of a blessing than a curse. They will help you blast through plateaus faster than you would on your own. Especially for those who are even mildly competitive, lean into those instincts!
I remember learning to ski at Powder Ridge, MN, and being afraid to switch from wedge to parallel skiing. I thought I would be out of control, but I was wrong.
Your skiing requires much less effort, and it opens up more of the mountain! Most skiers can be there within 2 weeks.
Intermediate skiing isn't about steeper, more difficult slopes—it's about controlling your speed and turns. Master these, and mountains become playgrounds. Most resorts offer intermediate runs from the peak!
Please don't worry about how your skiing looks. Other skiers are mostly in their heads, figuring out their best path down. Just stay upright and have fun!
How long does it really take to learn skiing? Spoiler: It's quicker than you think. You can become a low intermediate skier in as few as 5 days. Learn more below. https://t.co/k1s57HKELg
Most beginners think skiing is challenging. Honestly? It's easier than you think. By day three, most people can cruise down gentle slopes without panicking. Seriously—you're not doomed to pizza forever.
Alright everyone - we're heading to Aspen Snowmass to ski this weekend. Which run are you most interested in seeing? After I'm back next week, I'll post a video of whatever gets the most votes. Photo: The Dumps, Aspen Mountain
Although I missed the first chair @aftonalpsmn and the first tracks were taken, the 10 inches of snow still made for fantastic runs and a fun afternoon. Plus, I was surprisingly tested, as some runs went from ice to groomer to powder!
@liftblog@welchvillage Nice! That’s a great ski area. I hope more comes eventually for @aftonalpsmn to reduce the current average age fleet of 40+ years
To my midwestern skiing friends, today is the day to get some freshies! Looks like a good dump for many metro Minneapolis resorts as well as those south and east!
