Our 2024 book donation to Community High School, EUBA, and Community High School, where we reached a total of 82 students, stands as one of our early milestones in empowering young minds with the resources they need to succeed.
Recalling our first project: a one-month computer training and a day seminar aimed at empowering the brilliant young minds of Mushin. Proof that purpose, no matter how small it starts, creates lasting impact.
Our recent project was one close to our hearts donating past questions, Mathematics and English textbooks to selected schools in Mushin, and also equipping a school in Ogun State with a public address system and past questions.
Our second project was a step towards empowering academic success—providing 82 past questions to students preparing for WAEC and essential Maths and English textbooks to students in SS1 and 2. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Bosun, whose generous support made this possible. https://t.co/SUw2exCzHu
This Easter, we’re reflecting on the journey—taking a trip down memory lane to revisit the many projects we’ve carried out and the seeds of impact we’ve sown.

A brief recap of our recent book donation—small seeds planted in eager minds, with the hope of a brighter tomorrow. The future we want will not appear by chance. It must be built, and education is the foundation.

If your plan is for one hundred years, educate children."

See the empty shelves, the broken chairs, the missing materials. It is impossible to witness these things and remain untouched.
Kuan Chung said something long ago that still feels alive today:
"If your plan is for one year, plant rice. If your plan is for ten years, plant trees.

I plead with community leaders, policymakers, and anyone in a position of influence to make education a real priority. Visit the classrooms. Walk through the schools.
This is why we are rolling out our plans for next year. The focus will be on talent nurturing for young people in underrepresented communities. Too many gifted children never discover what they can become. We want to create pathways for them.
That is what I see when I look at young people in communities like mine. They have ability and hunger, but they lack the tools that help those qualities grow. The next Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Wole Soyinka could be among them, but without support, talent fades.
Education changed my life completely. Iit opened doors I did not even know existed and gave me room to dream beyond my street and my community. I once heard a line that stayed with me. You cannot know how good you might be at badminton if ou never get the chance to hold a racket.
When the principal of one of these schools explained how hard it was to address students during assembly, we provided a Public Address System. It was a simple need, but meeting it made a real difference.
This past year, we pushed further. We donated textbooks to seventy students preparing for WAEC and supported three schools, llese Community Senior School, Ajumoni Senior Secondary School, and ldi Araba Senior High School.
Ojo Olayinka and I did not start with much, but we started with intention. Since then, we have trained 15 students in basic digital skills for free and donated textbooks to more than 1 50 young people who needed them.
luxury.
Those moments stayed with me until they became a promise. I told myself that if life ever gave me a little comfort, I would reach back for others still facing the obstacles I knew too well. That promise became The SkillUp Initiative.
