Steve O’Keefe showed his worth today with a 6 wkt haul to become an Independent Portable Buildings Century Maker or 5 Wicket Taker & lead 1s to victory. SOK is a skillfull, subtle bowler but more than anything he’s a winner & is showing he’s still a top class cricketer #bleedblue
Pleased to confirm the appointment of Steve O’Keefe as the clubs men’s spin bowling coach. By our own admission it’s something we were lacking in previous seasons but SOK is a perfect fit to help our spinners. He’ll also do specialised sessions at our women’s training. Perfect.
@CricketNSWBlues cut Steve O'Keefe. He "only" took 16 wickets from 5 matches at 22 this year..Lyon 15 wickets from 6 games at 37.
Looks like he'll finish his career with the best FC average for Australian spinner in 70 years.
Massively underrated

To understand how good Steve O’Keefe was, you had to actually watch him closely at the ground. Subtle field placements, variations in trajectories and pace and use of the crease often went unnoticed. He manipulated games because he knew the game better than most of his opponents.
1/2... The Styleness Waratahs would like to congratulate Steve O’Keefe on his NSW & Australian career after today announcing his retirement from first class cricket. What an amazing 15 years he has had, specialising in the subtleties of spin bowling to get to the highest level...
"And of course I am indebted to the fans, who supported my left arm inswingers against their better judgement," Steve O'Keefe 😁
... but they were very, very, VERY GOOD ⬇️!!!
🎥 8-77 against Victoria at Junction Oval, 2018.
Steve O'Keefe took more wickets than any other spinner in the 2019/20 Sheffield Shield.
He was not offered a Cricket NSW contract and has retired from FC cricket. #OKeefe
Not since Ashley Mallett's 344 wickets at 23.75 for South Australia in the 1960s, 70s and early 80s has an orthodox spin bowler taken wickets as frequently or cheaply as O'Keefe's 224 at 25.01 in 71 Shield matches for NSW https://t.co/75cEfqkVE1
