@Larryferlazzo@educationweek @heymrsbond Thank you. I'm getting my PhD in order to add teacher voice to the body of research which leaves teachers as recipients of bad policy. Here's your apple-go make lemonade. Hopefully I can least make applesauce.
This....admin should NOT be reporting on teachers. It's like the bullies reporting on deficits of their victims to justify their continued (in) action. Thank you @heymrsbond
3 steps to revitalize public education:
1. Upgrade all school facilities across the country.
2. No teacher makes less than $50K a year.
3. Invest in hiring new teachers to explicitly lower class sizes.
The issue isn’t money it’s misdirected priorities. We could do this.
@mrjuanresendez @tubawidow Agree. In the district I taught in it was a complete popularity contest, determined then by administration with no accountability that was then sent to higher state levels. I know because I was nominated by my peers numerous times, but admin shut it down.
@teacherquit@theDRAMAgoat1 Mine asked me to lie on a huge state grant report about use of funds-while on stage seconds before presenting the illegally funded program to 100s of potential parents.
I didn't. Was blacklisted. Then awarded prestigious fellowship for the program I built legally.
@AEF_Program Q1: I never thought I was a STEM person....I put it off until my last sebester of college. I was even told I wasn't. Then I took geology and the world made sense. I felt like I was capable of doing science when I saw the meaning and relevance in daily life
Honored to address #STEMeducation and #diversity in #space at the #HumansToMars summit! Access to quality science in early learning is critical to closing later gaps in industry. When exposure is only in college, no wonder more don't enter the field!
I’m so excited to be on a STEM panel at the 2023 #HumansToMars Summit featuring many leaders in aerospace, innovation, policy experts, STEM education, artists, entertainment, and many others. Join the mission in DC to Mars for the benefit of all humans on Earth!

@heymrsbond I had throat infections constantly. Just try projecting your voice for 6.5 hours straight while always being on the lookout for kids smoking/fighting/bullying/and keeping them all engaged and entertained. And out sassing them.
Student ideas at work! This is what pre packaged "expert" created and locally removed content lacks-the ability to adapt to student needs or use ideas to guide learning-as scientists do. I love seeing teachers comfortable with uncertainty! Give a follow
Classroom investigations mostly demonstrate things we want children to “know," In the #InvestigationsProject, we purposefully engage students with uncertainty about evidence and uncertainty about what claim they can make from their investigation.
