@MosesAteDirt@georgebsocial Ninja Theory makes money because their mocap studio is generating a lot of cash for them. The games... not so much.
And regarding Compulsion Games, it took them ~7 years to make & release South of Midnight. So it's not looking good. But let's see what happens. ๐
@MosesAteDirt@georgebsocial Yeah... you know how it goes with these big mega corps. I doubt they care about these awards. Like you already said, just look at Tango and HiFi-Rush.
@ShawnLayden@yosp Not so fun anymore.
The same playbook as before.
Parasocial relationships with weird fanboys on Twitter, dozens & dozens of interviews, layoffs;
Same old, same old.

@georgebsocial Yeah, but Microsoft bought them during the "we just need some smaller AA content for Game Pass. More Game Pass fodder!" era. But we're in a different era now ๐ซค. So I don't have a good feeling. The same goes for Arkane. Looks like Microsoft wants to cut costs + focus on big IPs.
@PonySlayer445@DFilms92@DMC_Ryan "The people" that still love the IP aren't enough. The IP is way past its prime and needs all the help it can get. The same goes for Hale and Fable. But they decided to fuck the Gears IP just to please a small group of fanboys on Twitter.
@Beasy_McNasty@DMC_Ryan I know. That's why I said "A new unknown IP like Clockwork made more sense."
Gears E-Day didn't. They should have picked something else. Even Forza Horizon 6 would make sense, because it's already a success on PC/Steam.
@grayhoodie@asha_shar I sure as hell know that this isn't the "best for an ecosystem". Especially not for a dying Xbox console brand:

@_deadmaker@asha_shar What hurt them was Game Pass & people not buying games. Xbox already had exclusives during the Xbox One generation and when the Xbox Series launched. It didn't help.
Making Gears E-Day exclusive will just hurt the Gears IP and the "The Coalition" studio. Only fanboys are happy.
@konstapascal@asha_shar Microsoft is talking and talking and kept talking since Asha took over. Why? Good PR and for "Xbox" to stay in the conversation. Nothing more. Now we know why. Bad news, layoffs, studio closures.
Matthew Ball said the same "short term, long term" stuff. It's nonsense.
@XboxBrDigital@DMC_Ryan You are trying too hard, little virgin.
I don't really care about Gears. It's about the IP. Making it console exclusive is hurting the IP. And for what? Making a small group of toxic fanboys on Twitter happy? Embarrassing.
@DFilms92@DMC_Ryan The Gears IP is way past its prime. That's why making it exclusive made zero sense. The same goes for Halo (which is multiplatform). They should have picked Forza Horizon 6 or whatever. Gears is already struggling. Making it Xbox console exclusive is terrible for the IP.
