@delnerorahul@thebigdosser1@DAZNBoxing There isn't one & that's not unusual. In a major boxing event, the two fighters don't sign a contract directly with each other. They usually each sign a bout/event agreement with the promoter or event organiser/funder who is contracting to deliver the fight & pay the purses.
@loudibella If you have time in the future, I’d appreciate your perspective, but for now I wholeheartedly agree with you boxing isn’t what it was or where it needs to be.
@delnerorahul@thebigdosser1@DAZNBoxing Then you have the added complication of Zuffa seemingly wanting to come in on the action, to which that was already a clause not to have them if my memory serves correctly. Turki who is largely Sela, also has I believe a 60% stake in Zuffa, so even more messy.
@delnerorahul@thebigdosser1@DAZNBoxing held stateside. So, Netflix/Sela pushing to get the venue in the US. Eddie/AJ are, well you signed a contract stating it needed to be in the UK, so no, or if we do agree, here are the extra terms.
@delnerorahul@thebigdosser1@DAZNBoxing Everyone who has been involved has confirmed it, including Frank Warren who has no vested interest to call it differently.
@Ojeda4America That's stolen valour. Thank you for taking the oath, wearing the uniform, and accepting the responsibilities and sacrifices that came with it. You have my sincere respect and gratitude.
If Sela/Netflix want the change because New York creates more value for them, it is entirely reasonable that AJ is made whole for the additional cost and risk created by that change.
I don’t get the criticism of @EddieHearn over Fury–AJ. AJ signed a contract for the fight to take place in the UK. If Sela/Netflix want to move it to MSG, they are the ones asking to change the deal — not AJ.
Changing country isn’t simply a case of buying a few plane tickets.
Hearn appears to be saying: we prefer the UK as contracted, but if you want us to vary that agreement, these are the conditions.
That isn’t “money grabbing”. It’s basic commercial negotiation.
