It's here... the preview of #TheStringWithAB!
Today, we're also going live on services like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud, et al with this trailer as Episode 0 of The String.
And we’re live!
The Podcast Hub is all about the podcasting ecosystem. It features news, reviews, how-tos, interviews, et al for people who like to listen to podcasts, podcast hosts/producers, and really anyone who is interested in the medium.

Music streaming companies are investing heavily in podcast production and distribution. At present, podcasts are to music streaming companies what originals are to video platforms. But where is the money?
@baxiabhishek gets into the details.

But before we dive any deeper into podcast madness, let’s acknowledge one thing: Several years into the golden age of podcasting, many people remain only vaguely aware of them — where to find them, how they differ from radio, whether you watch or listen.

.@podnews reports that @HubHopper is altering and republishing public podcast RSS feeds.
This has the effect of spamming Google Podcasts (which is already listing these copies in preference to some official podcast feeds).
I've seen the response HubHopper folks have shared with their members in a WhatsApp group.
Very dodgy. I think they would've let it float had it not caught attention of @podnews and others.
Will Spotify Ruin Podcasting?
@matthewstoller argues that Spotify plans to, eventually, “force podcasters to live in its ecosystem.”

Google Podcasts now has a front page, with search, on the web.
The front page contains personalized results if you're signed in to your Google account. It still doesn’t list your subscribed podcasts though.
Sony Music Entertainment and Somethin’Else have announced a new podcast venture, working in the UK and the US on new podcasting opportunities.
Somethin’Else is already the UK’s leading independent audio producer.

FYI:
Apple Podcasts directory is currently slow to update podcast episodes on its website and to people who aren’t subscribed.
Existing subscribers remain unaffected and are getting the latest episode as they normally do.
Apple is aware of the issue and is working to fix it.
