@corruptionat@dmuleicester @DMUDVC I wholeheartedly disagree with this. The problem is in the governance of the university - the academic staff who work tirelessly to provide an incredible student experience don’t deserve this.
Shellard lied to staff and students. Even yet, the terms of his resignation have not been made public.
We, the students, deserve to know; and all students in HE deserve to know who the real Dominic Shellard is.
We, the students, have been very quiet the last couple of months regarding #DMUVC, as we were lead to believe that Dominic Shellard has been ousted from @dmuleicester, with @DMUDVC leading the way for major reforms at the institution.
We’re receiving information that Shellard has worded his way into another HE institutions somewhere in the country.
We are now looking into this rumour, with the hope we can find Shellard, and ensure those at his new institution are aware of his former financial impropriety.
I've been hearing a frankly astonishing rumour about the former #DMUVC taking up another VC position in a University in 'crisis' somewhere across the UK. If anyone across the #highereducation sector has any leads on this feel free to DM me, I'd seriously love to talk.
Please RT.
A formal letter of recognition of needing to do better - BUT STILL, no apology to staff or students.
The @DMUDVC simply is not getting it. Don’t promise you’re going to do better, without recognising and accepting that you failed in the first instance.
#DMUVC
Therefore, this student, on behalf of staff and students alike on campus, is calling on the interim Vice-Chancellor to apologise for the shortcomings of the institution, and promise us to do better.
It really isn't difficult.
@DMUDVC has a lot of broken bridges to mend - with staff and students alike.
This student would advise the interim #DMUVC to start as he means to go on, and begin with an open, and frank conversation.
No one has actively came out to students or staff, and apologised for the situation we now find ourselves in. An apology is not an admission of guilt; it is acceptance that more could, and should have been done to prevent it.
Many members of staff stating that senior management have been instructing security personnel on campus to remove @UCU_DMU posters which compare the #DMUVC and staff salary.
I have been told - more have been, and will continue, to be put up.
Reports that members of @UCU_DMU + @unisontweets held a vote of no-confidence in the EB and the BoG this afternoon.
Particular emphasis was put on the hypocrisy of beginning a new era of transparency; while no one really knows what the @officestudents are investigating. #DMUVC
So in the wake of yesterdays news about the #DMUVC I've now been told that there have been further resignations from the Board of Governors.
Was it something we said?
A truly harrowing, and raw story of the darker side of #DMUVC.
This has no place in a modern university like DMU, nor anywhere in the world, which prides itself on diversity and inclusion for all.
Students, and staff alike, deserve to be treated on merit, and merit alone.
@DUntangling@DrAdamErrington An 'Executive Assistant' is usually the norm, as most PVCs have other academic commitments outside of the university also, but @DMUPVC only holds positions in DMU (where Dominic was able to create them for him). So a CoS is entirely unneeded.
