Long story short, losing the dollar hegemony means instant hyperinflation. If a $15.00 burrito bothers you, wait until you see the $150,000 burrito.

If you think that's ridiculous, that's nothing compared to what Germany suffered when their mark was devalued in the early 1920s. The dollar bought a few hundred marks but, after the mark's collapse, one dollar bought you trillions of marks. German currency was effectively worthless. That happened over just one year or so.
