@cremieuxrecueil In California, we had people lined up in cars for miles to get the vax. Participants of these programs setup outdoor vax lines to vax as many people as possible. Sign here, get vax.
Crazy that you think her point is invalid because she wouldn't have made as much money.
@Tsuki_no_Megami@BlizzardCS my bad girl. you may not like it but this greatly helps addon developers and players who come to mop from retail. Devs can make a single addon work for all versions of the game instead of having to maintain multiple versions
Every major patch addons are broken, this isn't new.
Panda's food cost on that plate is around $3. They sell it to you for ~$11. If you tried to make it at home you probably spent $15 on ingredients and an hour of your life to lose this race. Here's why the scale math is brutal.
Panda buys boneless chicken thighs at wholesale: around $2/lb, sometimes less on contract. The same cut at your grocery store runs $3-5/lb. You're paying a 2x retail markup before you've turned on the stove.
Then stack the ingredient tax. Orange chicken at home needs cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, orange juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and frying oil. Each bottle costs $3-8. You use a tablespoon of each and toss the rest a year later. Panda buys these inputs in drums and the per-plate seasoning cost rounds to zero.
Labor is where the comparison breaks. A Panda cook plates 200-300 entrees per shift. Marginal labor is ~90 seconds at ~$18/hr, so about $0.50 of labor per tray. You spent 45 minutes on yours. At any honest hourly rate, the time cost more than the meal.
Panda sells 115 million pounds of orange chicken a year. At that volume, they're functionally a food manufacturer with 2,400 retail outlets. The plate is the last step in a commodities pipeline.
A chain running 90-second wok labor on commodity chicken beats your home kitchen every time. That's the whole business.
Please consider that I have purchased 5 ps1 consoles from Goodwill, all with broken optical drives. These consoles all were sitting with no ability at all to play a game ever again. Doing this mod not only saves a console from being junked and never used again, but it also gives people the ability to play their favorite games on original hardware without worry about disc rot.
These consoles deserve to be in homes and used, not forever sitting on a shelf, and there's only so many versions of the PS1 that are compatible with this modification.
MOST of the ps1s out in the world CANNOT be modded in this way at the moment. Of the ~102 million units sold, worldwide, there's ~77 million that cannot be modded and must used the original disc drive, that leaves ~35 million that can be modded.
For this original launch console, I need a new front controller ribbon cable, and I have invested over $150 to bring this console back from the dead (the console + xstation + cap kit + front controller port; is not inexpensive and well over $100). If I sell it for $225 I will have made about $20 an hour, before ebay takes it's fees. That money will go right back into the next console I am fixing. (It usually take over 2 years for a console to sell on ebay as I have very low sales on my account and my posts get pretty low views.)
I don't do this because I want to take advantage of people or make a boat load of money. I do this because I want these consoles to find a good home and not be tossed in a bin.
I do this because I love retro gaming and being able to quickly launch a game without having to handle the original disc gives me peace of mind.
Plus it's awesome.
Am I the only one who hates console mods that remove the disc drive? I see these for both the PS1 and Dreamcast a lot.
Like... Why would you remove the ability to ever actually buy and play games in their native format on the original hardware?
Surely there's other ways to play your collection of ISOs on the hardware...
This attitude is the exact reason I can't do church anymore.
Instead of rejoicing over the gospel, she nitpicks a single belief and wants to debate some stupid doctrine that has nothing to do with salvation.
She better hope God doesn't have the same attitude with her beliefs.
@Torncurtainorg Yeah and he denies that Mark 16:9-20 is Bible truth. He doesn't believe that those verses are real and denies them completely. Interesting to me how someone can pop up and show up everywhere. 🚩🚩🚩
The problem with Metroid prime 4 is that it's visually the best Metroid prime game we have had while simultaneously being the worst prime game.
It's not a bad game at all, I enjoyed it as an amazing game... It's just not nearly as good as any previous prime game.
The gatekeeping around one piece is crazy.
If you watch one pace, it's fine. Just like reading the manga and not watching the anime, is also fine.
Do suggest you watch the extended versions, or only watch up to wano and switch to the anime.
@NoxisAstralis@jsmithwilliams You could not play GameCube games on the wiiU natively. You had to hack the vWii to do that.
But your point still stands.
The fact that they just reset everything to zero with switch release hurt.
