SYDNEY | Coming to you today with slow but steady progress on the completion of the missing link in the King St cycleway between Clarence and Pitt Sts - the road lanes are being shifted, and the separated cycling facility is starting to emerge.
SYDNEY | March 2026 saw another record month for ridership on Sydney Metro, despite extensive and disruptive weekend shutdowns. 6,697,553 trips were taken on the M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line. It was the 2nd busiest rail line, behind the T1 Line. 1/3
WATERLOO | Stockland’s Concept SSDA for the redevelopment of the Waterloo South Estate is now on public exhibition. The SSDA proposes a net gain of 2,550 apartments with supporting community, retail and recreational space.
The NSW Government has introduced additional services on the M1 Line to respond to this lift in demand. Surely it would be a smart pitch to voters to make an increase in service frequency permanent at the 2027 Election @ChrisMinnsMP@JohnGrahamALP@Kelliesloanemp@natwardmlc ?
March 2026 saw the highest average weekday ridership (274,468). This is the first time average weekday ridership exceeded 260,000 and 270,000 passengers in a month. March 2026 also exceeded government forecasts of 264,000 weekday passengers: https://t.co/ifVsUnQ0nL 2/3

@MarkDando4@edwarner57@TransportforNSW could do a much better job at rerouting bus services to properly integrate with new Metro West stations. This is something that has not been done very well on M1 Line, and forces people to use limited space in commuter car parks, particularly in north-west
SYDNEY | Early renders of six stations - Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays and Hunter Street - on Sydney Metro West have been released.
@MarkDando4@edwarner57 No commuter parking is planned at any of the nine stations on Sydney Metro West. Adjacent land is being rezoned to accommodate new housing (18,300 dwellings at Burwood North, 15,000 at Sydney Olympic Park, 8,500 at The Bays, 4,000 at Pyrmont etc)
@SydneyMetro@TransportforNSW need to update comms for passengers on the M1 Metro North West and Bankstown Line. You should be discouraging people from standing next to the doors on the train, reducing throughput in peak. And encourage people to take backpacks off in peak.
The fuel price crunch is likely to see the M1 Metro North West and Bankstown Line patronage surge even further. In the AM peak yday, I observed people being stuck on the metro at Gadigal (and people couldn’t get on) because throughout and high volumes of people were big issues
