Sales are for the majority of times not affected by first impressions, if the game is good usually ( most time then not ) is gonna sell, GOW 2018 had a very VERY bad impression with the general gaming community, everyone criticized the complete change of thrones of the game and how Kratos changed becoming a “”soft dad””, the outrage was way bigger then this because the game changed fundamentally on its core.

But you already knew that despise that it become the biggest god of war in the entire franchise outselling the original trilogy combine together despite the first impressions

Just because it’s fantasy fiction doesn’t need to have a specific art style or a specific set of rules to make good games, sometimes making characters look realistic fit more to the vision of the game and narrative and what they are trying to convey, there is nothing wrong with both type of games but everything need to be put under the lenses of ‘context’, you don’t go play red dead redemption expecting to see hot looking characters left and right, then you play bayonetta and the main characters look like top models.

First of all she is old, Kratos also look old as hell compare to how he used to look like, the guys is crusty as hell, same thing with her, she is old and I don’t think makeup is a very common thing used by Jötunheim giants, also she is not ugly ? She just look like a normal aged woman?

That doesn’t make sense ? If they make a spin off that is specifically made to cover the story of tomb raider from the perspective of an already well established character in the lore of the game there is nothing wrong with it.

We got Miles morales for the spiderman games, we got different characters in the resident evil
