We are incredibly proud to announce the official close of Domestic Development Fund IV.
This milestone is our biggest yet, closing 60% larger than Fund III (our previous record).
This kind of growth doesn't happen in a vacuum. It is a direct reflection of the enduring relationships we’ve built over the years.
To the investors who continue to trust us with their capital, and to the operating partners who bring us exceptional projects: thank you. Your partnership is the foundation of our success.
Fund IV by the numbers:
✅ 14 high-caliber wells
✅ 3 distinct plays
✅ 4 premier operating partners
✅ 60/40 oil-to-gas weighting
What’s next?
Domestic Development Fund V is on deck and launches this August. We are hitting the ground running with 10 wells already identified across Oklahoma and Louisiana, with several more currently under review.
The momentum continues. We look forward to partnering with you on Fund V.
They'll book profits to hedge against the fundamental distrust of our markets. Only when our markets tell the real story, let supply and demand do its thing, and force us to take our medicine will the picture start to get comfortable again.
It's Wednesday, so we talk supply and demand. You know, the stuff that used to matter in the buying and selling of a good.
Commercial crude drew 7.2 million barrels. API estimated 3.3 last night. Whoopsie daisy!
Cheap oil ($75 or less) is a mirage. Traders will get us there, easily manipulated by Tweets and headlines. But that won't encourage operators to pick up rigs.
@BasinVentures The Strategic Petroleum Reserve sits at 316 million barrels. Lowest since April of 1983. Commercial crude is six percent under the five-year average.
That is the ground this fund was built on. Hard fund close Friday. Materials at https://t.co/BHB7TyZtwb
@BasinVentures Domestic Development Fund IV closes Friday.
Three years ago we had no producing wells and no funds, working uphill in a space dominated by bad actors doing bad business.
You cannot underwrite a capital program against a tweet.
Capital needs a horizon. When the horizon resets every news cycle, capital sits still.
We used to have a name for economies where the government held all the levers. It wasn't a compliment, comrade.

Brent touched $100 yesterday. First time in two months.
Houthi attacks on tankers in the Red Sea. Both straits effectively closed. All signs point to $100+ for the foreseeable future.
Right?
Supply and demand still work. They're just not the thing setting the price anymore.
What sets the price is which lever gets pulled Tuesday morning, and nobody outside the Oval Office knows which one.
