@anon_opin I’ve often said that the insane talents of the other 3 were ‘wasted’ by teaming up with Durst. I’m sure their bank managers would disagree, however.
@GarethNotGarth I was a lot younger but this reminds me of my first day, post-divorce, in a flat at age 31. It seemed there was a yearning chasm of uncertainty in front of me. Nearly 20 years later I’m married to an amazing woman and have a wonderful young son. Enjoy single life for a while.
@kingofallt1me @fesshole I got pushed out from a job and paid off a couple of years ago. Since then the manager who pushed me out has himself been sacked and I get a LinkedIn alert telling me to apply for my old job because I “might be a good fit” every couple of months.
@fesshole I got asked for ID in Morrisons. I was 40. Pointed this out but the manager said that because I’d been asked I’d have to produce ID or no sale. I do look younger than my years but not less than half my real age. Luckily I had my driving licence in the car outside.
@behindyourback 2/2 and I’m also aware that I speak from a position of relative privilege and I realise how lucky I’ve been. I want everyone to have the opportunities that I’ve had.
@behindyourback Me. Had an epiphany many years ago that the chances of my simply existing are infinitesimally small and once you’re dead, that’s it, so make the most of it. I’m acutely aware there are terrible things happening in the world and I do what little I can to help prevent them 1/2
@anon_opin You’re doing it wrong then. Adulthood is far superior to being a child, with all the associated insecurities, exams, bullies, lack of money and lack of autonomy. Adults can do what they want, when they want, as long as it’s legal.
