@GergelyOrosz Often enough in my experience I've found that there is politics and then there is politics. The former is learning to work together, the latter is career positioning.
@allenholub That said, one of the techniques innovators use is not just accepting the surface level answer to "what do you want?" Inquiring deeper can lead to new revelations and thus to better innovation.
@AllanCudicio Individuals have the ability to be neutral. Leaders do not. They are either helping move us all forward or they are not.
Being upset with and calling out leaders who do not move us all forward is correct and leads to better outcomes for everyone.
@TestPappy Truly one of the most underused tactics in all of consulting is asking the team to describe their system/workflow/dataflow etc. I'm always amazed at how far a team gets without a shared understanding of what they are actually doing / working on!
