Hearing the voice, Esther faltered. Not.. a douchebag guy coming in to ogle. Thankfully, Tobi was too busy talking to notice.
The shift in her demeanor was unnoticeable to a stranger. In fact, the slump in her shoulders could be mistaken for disinterest. But it was relaxation.
”Anyways! You’re that one chick I talked to not that long ago, right? Pretty cool we’re meeting in person now, huh?” She adds excitedly before reining it in. “I mean, uh… cool. Cool.”
Tobi looks up the moment she hears a voice. She automatically recognizes her, the waitress that even brought the restaurant to her mind in the first place.
“Oh, yeah, I know, I know. People as cool as me are pretty rare around here, ain’t they?” Tobi says, almost smug

Esther was working on autopilot, not bothering to look at customers as she cleaned her latest table. She was lost in her thoughts- or, the same thought she always had while working.
Instinctively, it was the swinging open of the front door that pulled her out.
