I haven't posted in a while, but I placed in the top four of the Regional Championship in Milwaukee, which has qualified me for PT Strixhaven! I'm looking to join a team, so if anyone is on a team looking for new members, or knows someone, please reach out!
@MTGGoldfish#fishmail Given that Pioneer Masters has the express goal of bringing competitive Pioneer to Arena, and given that six people qualified for ProTour Aetherdrift playing Acererak Combo at RCs, does Wizards need to find a way to streamline combos on the client?
@fireshoes Credit to @Crew3Podcast for this great idea. Only semi-serious about doing this but I do need to find a testing team, feel free to reach out!
Putting out the batsignal to try to connect with those who qualified for Pro Tour Aetherdrift by playing Acererak Combo. Let's join our powers and create Team Archlich! @fireshoes
Congratulations to the three people who earned Pro Tour invites playing Acererak last weekend! It's fun seeing people succeed with the deck. According to Frank Karsen's article Acererak had a 60% winrate for the weekend! Hope to see the same at the Canadian RC!
@SaffronOlive@GizmomcS I could see them working with Brandon Sanderson to bring the Cosmere to Magic. Sanderson is a huge magic fan, and there would be a goldmine there.
I've been getting some people commenting on my "hot streak" with Acererak, implying that the deck isn't that good and just has been running hot. After making the top 4 of last night's challenge I thought I should set the record straight. 1/3 @fireshoes
@chrish_mtg@fireshoes Rarely, but it does happen. In most matchups you can go through the Dungeon of the Mad Mage a few times and get to a board state where you win by attacking the next turn.
A sample size of 60 matches is not conclusive, but it certainly not nothing. The deck is not just on a "hot streak," it is actually really good right now. If you are looking to pick it up, I wrote a primer, which you can find here https://t.co/CdvzIHP68q 3/3
Of the last seven MTGO challenges I've entered with Acererak, the deck has made top 8 in five of them. The other two I missed top 8 on tiebreakers. Not only has the deck consistently made top 8, my overall match record in those challenges was 46-14. 2/3
After working on it over the past couple of weeks, my Acererak Combo Primer and Sideboard Guide is ready for the public! I'm excited to finally share it with you all! You can find in the shop of my new Patreon https://t.co/CdvzIHOyiS @fireshoes
Took down tonight's Pioneer Challenge with Acererak, with my only loss being to the chess clock! The deck is super well positioned right now, so if you are willing to click a few (hundreds of) times try it out! @fireshoes
@SaffronOlive The format is really fun and diverse right now. I won a PT invite at the RC with a version of your original Acererak combo deck, which proves that you can play almost anything at the moment!
