Charles “Buddy” Rogers was a popular singer and actor in the 1930s. In that era, NBC was so synonymous with radio that its NBC Artists Service division also handled bookings for key talent in other venues. From the 3/29/32 edition of @Variety. #NBC100
NBC’s national radio network launched in November 1926. At first it was seen in the industry as a distribution platform rather than a media brand unto itself. But by the late 1930s, NBC had so much programming it launched a second network known as “the Blue” while the original was dubbed “the Red.” From the 6/28/39 edition of @Variety. #NBC100
