Thirty people from 10 countries have officially become Jamaican citizens during a citizenship ceremony welcoming them to the Jamaican family.

The group included 12 women, 13 men and five children from Myanmar, Russia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Italy, Haiti, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the United States, celebrating Jamaica’s diversity and the start of a new chapter in their lives.

A 77-year-old U.S. Postal Service employee in Stuart, Florida, has been arrested after authorities discovered between 70 and 80 animals living in filthy, overcrowded conditions inside her home.

Investigators say the house was filled with trash, cages, and animal waste after years of collecting stray and feral cats. More than 70 cats and several dogs were rescued and are now receiving veterinary care.

She faces two misdemeanor animal cruelty charges, while officials say their priority was rescuing the animals and getting her mental health support.

Jamaican reggae artiste Fantan Mojah has died at the age of 49.

According to reports, the Rastafarian singer passed away on Tuesday evening at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in Kingston after suffering complications related to his heart.

Fantan Mojah, whose real name was Owen Moncrieffe, was known for his powerful conscious reggae music and timeless songs including Hail the King, Hungry, Rasta Got Soul, and Stronger. His music earned him respect across Jamaica and the international reggae community for its spiritual messages and unwavering commitment to Rastafarian culture.

His passing marks a significant loss for reggae music.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino says football’s governing body will examine the possibility of expanding the 2030 FIFA World Cup from 48 to 64 teams.

The tournament would already be historic as it will be staged across six countries and three continents, with Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay hosting the opening matches before the competition continues in Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

Colombia international Jáminton Campaz has revealed he received death threats following the country’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who plays for Rosario Central in Argentina, said the threats prevented him from returning to his hometown of Tumaco or visiting family in Ibagué.

In an emotional Instagram statement, Campaz condemned the abuse, saying no passion for football should force anyone to live in fear.
