@TheHonestNFL I never understood match principles off of MOFC (cov 3) zone structures. If curl-flat def. matches
#2 up the seam then if the Off. runs a seam by #2 and 6yd in by #1 then #1 would be wide open. Is that how that route combo would play out ?
@TheHonestNFL Agreed. With all the MOFO zone defences in the league today, teams should formation their best WR at 2 weak out of empty and give him a 2 way go on the Will LB until the defence adjusts.
@TheHonestNFL 100% agree with you about that. Would be fascinating to hear them talk the chess game. You get a little bit of that with the younger generation of coaches coming up so that’s cool at least.
@TheHonestNFL I like that. Always taught 2 strong to read m/z. Zone = seam. Man = slot fade. On your Stache diagram for 2 I see a sail conversion is that meant to be an answer vs 2man?
@TheHonestNFL I’m stealing the whip route variation though!! I think in m/m it gives the QB time to evaluate the slot fade and still have a 2nd read throw to the whip. With a stick you almost have to pre-snap (vs m/m) decide: work stick or work slot fade?
@TheHonestNFL I got you. In empty I like it with a stick route (slop on the backside) vs def. that play MOFO zone coverage. Usually a big pocket for the stick route to T-up between the Mike and Nickel. And if the Mike overplays the Stick, then we’re coming backside to our Slop.
